Distances: 100 Mile Loop/Out & Back, 71 Mile Out & Back, 30 Mile Out & back.
Gene Chapman Memorial Bicycle Ride
Start/Finish for 100 mile and 70 mile distances: Sahuarita High School, 350 W, Sahuarita Rd, Sahuarita, Arizona 85629

THE most popular GABA bicycle ride in Southern Arizona! Three options are available for riders from novice to very experienced cyclists.

What makes this such a GREAT ride?

• It's October in Tucson...perfect weather for a bicycle ride.

• With El Tour De Tucson a month away, it proves to be an excellent training ride.
• The route is a mixture of flat, rolling hills, and challenging climbs, all the while being very picturesque!
• Many cyclists record their best time for riding a century on this route!

Course Overview & Maps

All route options run south through the scenic Santa Cruz River Valley, Tubac, and Tumacacaori Mission with distance options that will accommodate all levels of cyclists.

We will provide four support and gear (SAG) stations (shown as A, and B, on the maps below) where you can refuel with fruit, water, sports drink, snacks and sandwiches. Back at the finish, we’ll have Subway sandwiches for lunch.

There will be three Sweep vehicles on the routes providing mechanical support, and first aid if necessary. Each vehicle will be marked with a yellow magnetic sign that reads, "SUPPORT VEHICLE".

Watch for GABA signs indicating all the turns of the course and turnaround points. If you want paper map & cue sheets, please follow the links below and print at home to bring along. Begin riding after you have checked in.

Volunteer Opportunity

To have successful rides, we need members to volunteer to help with check-in/registration before the ride, operate a SAG stop, or drive a sweep vehicle to help cyclists. Learn more on the GABA Volunteering page and send questions to our Volunteer Coordinator, Pam Cullop via volunteer@bikegaba.org.

Thanks and hope to see you on the ride!
