You say you want to do some bicycle touring in the US but don't want to compete
with automotive traffic on US highways? There are many long-distance,
non-motorized paths available! These are generally old railroad lines or canal
routes that have been converted to multi-use paths.
For the past five years, we've done an annual Fall cycling tour with a few
friends that prefer to cycle these non-motorized paths. Come to the October
7th GABA meeting where we'll be sharing our first-hand experiences on the
Chesapeake & Ohio towpath, Great Allegheny Passage, Katy Trail, Mickelson
Trail and Bitterroot Loop to name a few.
We'll also cover some of the exciting new paths that are under development.
