On Saturday, November 6th, GABA will have a 40-year celebration bike ride and picnic. A day of celebration, award-receiving, sharing, and recalling…it will be fun! Please join us if you can.
The picnic will take place at Brandi Fenton Park
at the Barn Ramada 6 (parking in the rear). Festivities will start around 11:30 am or when GABA riders return from the various Memorial Ride options (all will start and end from the picnic area) in honor of Rudy & Kay Van Renterghem (refer to separate article or MeetUp for ride details).
GABA will provide sandwiches & condiments, with options for vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free needs. GABA will also provide chilled bottled water and sodas. We are asking that those who attend bring an appropriate side to sandwiches or a dessert to share. Alcohol is NOT permitted according to our park permit. *Please note: Due to the group size limit of our permit, we must limit it to the first 100 people who sign up. Sign up early! If you RSVP yes and it turns out later that you can’t come, please change your RSVP so that spots will open for other people. GABA large crowd mask policy: Everyone, even fully vaccinated guests will wear masks unless eating or drinking, and we require all who plan to attend to be fully vaccinated.
If you have any sort of GABA ride wear, no matter how old, or what type (jersey, t-shirt, socks, cap, etc.), please wear it to the picnic. If you are going to participate in one of the memorial rides, you may prefer to bring your GABA clothing to change into after the ride to keep it fresh. But wouldn’t it be fun to see all the varieties out there in this single celebration event?
A limited number of the new 40th Anniversary commemorative jerseys and other current GABA ride wear will be available for purchase at the picnic.
The winner of the GABA’s History Quiz contest which ran from August 1-31, will be awarded their 40th Anniversary commemorative jersey at the picnic. Hope you participated and are eligible to win!
Hope to see you at this very special GABA celebration…
